I want to use other university libraries?
I want to use other university libraries?
Answer
If you live in the region of another university which is more convenient to travel to, you may be able to borrow or use books and journals at another university's library.
The SCONUL Access scheme allows students to register for membership of other university libraries and, in some cases, borrow from them. You may be able to borrow books and other resources if you come under one of the following categories:
- Part-time
- Distance learner
- Postgraduate taught
- Postgraduate research
If you are a full-time undergraduate, you will not be able to borrow from other universities but you will still be allowed into their library buildings to study.
For more information and to apply online see SCONUL Access scheme. Please make sure you have paid any library fines and return overdue books before making an application.
The scheme does not allow you to access other universities' computers or electronic resources. However, if you take your laptop or tablet, you are likely to be able to connect to WiFi through the Eduroam wireless network.
